We have recently launched our new search product, called Omnicache.  One of our development teams have been working on this product for almost two years now, and we’re excited to say it’s now ready to launch, with the first customer due to go live within the next few weeks.

Omnicache is faster and more powerful than any other search tool on the market.  We’ve been testing the speed of it over the last few months, and here’s a few headlines:

 - Search results come back from our API in less than one second
 - Search results are delivered on to a web page within 4 seconds*

How the fast search works

The reason we’re able to return search results so quickly is because the search is being run against our own cached database – so we don’t need to go off and check against loads of different supplier databases for every search that is run. 

How accurate the fast search is

Due to the fact that we are looking at cached rather than live results, we can’t guarantee the same accuracy as we would against live databases.  Our tests have shown that it is 90% accurate however. 

We have written the search in such a way that it is intuitive as to how often it needs to update itself.  To illustrate this simply - if a user finds an Easyjet flight and decides to book it using the system, and it then turns out that the live price is different to the cached price that has been shown on the search results - then the system knows that it needs to update its Easyjet prices in the cache for that flight route more regularly than it was doing, and it will immediately start to do so.  So as time goes on, the accuracy of the search results will improve. 

How to get the fast search

If you buy our standard FindandBook service, or buy our website platform Fabrix then you will get our standard search tool.  However Omnicache is offered as an upgrade option to either FindandBook or Fabrix.
