Dynamic Packaging Engine

The Dynamic Packaging Engine is a rules based service that extends the core FindandBook service, enabling customers to manage complex pricing rules for all types of available content.

By applying pricing to the supplier components within the FindandBook service results are delivered to the customers systems in shorter time-scales and do not require further processing before display to the end user.

The service can manage either a single customer account, or multiple accounts with alternative rules for different sales channels.

Dynamic Packaging rules are managed in 3 high level categories:

• Mark-up
• Commission
• Discount

Each category can be defined and controlled by more granular rules that include:

• Based on:
  • per booking
  • per passenger
  • per unit (e.g. a room)
• Element of cost
  • basic cost excluding non-commissionable elements
  • basic cost excluding taxes but including other elements
  • total cost
• Product / Supplier
• Dates
  • date of booking
  • date of travel
  • both the above
• Party size and composition
• Type of holiday
  • flight only
  • accommodation only
  • package holiday
  • dynamic package
  • etc.
